Virtual Race Option
Although the 10k race is in North Carolina, the virtual option allows you to run or walk from anywhere in the world! And you can do half a mile or 20 miles each day. Why join a virtual race? For fun, competition, charity, the challenge of it, and to learn more about the locale.
Course
The 150-mile course is totally doable -- because you have SIX WHOLE WEEKS!!! Even if you join late, you can join a team and still complete it. Even if you don't quite finish, you can brag about how many miles you DID do and what rank you made! Travel the distance from the site of the live retreat all the way to the location of our literacy sponsor for 2016, and learn a thing or two about a few authors along the way.
Pricing
All proceeds from this virtual race go directly to Greenville Literacy Association. You can register for the race and make donations all the way up until the final day!
Teams
If you run about 5 or more miles a day, 5 or more times a week, then sign up as an individual. If less than that, or you sign up late, then join a team.
Logging Your Miles
If you run or walk, then just log your miles. If you do some other form of fitness or workout, then use the guideline of 15-20 minutes = 1 mile.
Awards
Bragging rights. The sense of accomplishments. A happy feeling to know you have made the world a better place through your generous charitable contributions. Run like the wind, baby!
